General Meeting Announcement Letter

Point of Pines Beach Association
General Meeting May 31 at 7 PM Point of Pines Yacht Club

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you our goals for the upcoming beach season. Your board of directors has been working over the winter months on plans for this summer’s projects and events. We have already started the beach cleanups and have distributed barrels as of 4/16, this is the earliest we have ever put out barrels.

We have taken a close look at the bylaws, and as a board we propose some amendments (please refer to the attached).

At our general meeting we will hold the biennial election. At this time all current officers will be standing for re-election. We expect two of our seven current board members will not be running. Nominations for all offices and directors must be sent in writing to the current board of directors at: P.O. Box 101, Revere MA 02151. (this address is for nominations only) All nominations must be received by 5/22/11. Nominees must be members in good standing, and should send a brief bio. Nominations will not be accepted from the floor so that we can print a ballot beforehand.

This year we will also hold a vote on a dues increase of $10, and proposed amendments to the bylaws.

Please note that we will be sending out a separate letter for the collection of dues. The term of annual membership runs from June 1 2011 to May 31 2012. The term for all offices and directors will be for 2 years. Dues will be collected at the end of the meeting for the membership year.

Among the planned improvements for this season is the replacement of the remaining two iron stairways on the side beach with new wood stairs. The signs are to be repainted and will now include “No Trespassing”.

We have been in contact with the town of Hooksett NH in regards to the recent discovery on our beach of the disks discharged from their sewage treatment plant. Our beach has had two visits from Empro, a contractor of Hooksett to recover these disks.

We have been working to improve our beach, and to communicate with our members. In closing, we look forward to a pleasant and safe beach season.

Sincerely,

Kristina Nappi
President
