DCR Posts Warnings for Swimmers at Revere Beach

DCR Posts Warnings for Swimmers  at Revere Beach, Nahant Beach and King's Beach Due to High Bacterial Counts

False alarm, water is safe and the warnings were just for Friday, confirmed by a DCR person at the Oak Island bathhouse.  The DCR website simply removed the news release late Saturday, but didn't post anything to say the water was safe. Considering that King's beach still has a high bacteria count, I'm thinking that the DCR's managemnent doesn't have to work weekends.

Typically the DCR tests Revere Beach at four separate locations but this release does not go into nearly as much detail as their typical report. For example, this report for July 22

As always, our policy is that all swimmers do so at their own risk.

Also, be aware that our private security patrols continue this weekend Friday July 22 and Saturday July 23 from 10pm to 2 am.
