Commercial shoot on our beach Wednesday morning.
July 16, 2018 Dear Point of Pines Friends and Families!
Beginning at 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 18th, you may notice a flurry of activity between Lancaster Ave and Whitin Ave. That’s because the POPBA has approved an exciting event to take place on our beautiful Beach!
Newfangled Studios, a video centered creative agency in Charlestown is shooting a commercial for their client, an office supply store, to promote back to school shopping.
We would like to invite you to be a part of the fun! Here’s how to get involved: 1. If you would like to be an EXTRA in our production, here’s what to do:
● 11:30 - 12:30: Check in at our Reception Tent located at 69 Lancaster Ave
● Arrive dressed and packed for a day at the beach! Bring a small cooler, a beach tote, chair and/or blanket, wear a bathing suit and/or cover-up.
● Sign a Film Release for you and your child(ren) NOTE: Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
2. If you do NOT want to be a part of our production, simply go about your day as you
normally would. No action needs to be taken.
Newfangled Studios have taken precautions to protect our grass and dunes. Trash removal and cleanliness of the beach are also a top priority and have been carefully planned! We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, July 18th.
Thank you Newfangled Studios

Beach Cleaning Saturday September 9, 8AM
Hi Everyone,
It's our final scheduled Saturday morning Beach Cleaning Event of the Summer. Saturday, September 9 at 8AM.
Steve Caruso, Owner of Caruso Corporation in Revere, will be bringing us, for the third month in a row and totally free of charge, a front end loader tractor, dump truck and two guys to run them both. We are hopeful that he will also be able to bring us the Beach Rake which will pick up seaweed and other nasty stuff.
BJ's Wholesale Club in Revere. Gary is in the process of signing up BJ's Wholesale Club to our Discounts & Perks program. Gary has also chatted with the General Manager there and BJ's will also be donating lots of pastry, cookies, Danish and muffins, etc., for the volunteers to enjoy after our Saturday morning clean up.
As always we start in the Point of Pines yacht Club at 8am sharp, and we end up at the corner of Rice and Chamberlain where we'll have water, coffee and goodies to be enjoyed by all.
Please wear appropriate shoes and gloves. We will have trash bags and extra gloves available as well.
Please spread the word and join us. You can start anywhere on the beach and meet up with us. Feel free to join us at Rice and Chamberlain even if you are only able to socialize and meet other members, as well as Steve and his crew, Gary, Laurie, and most of the Directors and Officers.
Thanks for the help,
POPBA

Point Of Pines Beach Association - Summer 2017 - First Major Beach Cleanup!
On Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 8am, the Point Of Pines Beach Association (POPBA) had it’s first ‘major’ Summer Beach Cleanup of the year. We had a front end loader, a dump truck, and two men assisting us in removing all the bags of debris collected and picked up from the previous weeks by many of our Board Members and volunteers, as well as the additional debris from the 3rd of July.
This cleanup was lead by Laurie Nalesnik, our second Vice President who does an outstanding job coordinating everything we need from supplies of bags and gloves, etc., to coffee, munchkins and ice cold water at the end of our cleanup. Great job Laurie! We all very much appreciate you and thank you so much for all you do for the POPBA!
A few very important points. It’s important for everyone to know about how and when we do these major beach cleanups. We usually do these major beach cleanups ‘three’ times a year: July, August and September. Also, we usually try to schedule this first ‘major’ beach cleanup ASAP ‘after’ the 3rd of July festivities. These major beach cleanups are extremely expensive and can run anywhere between $800-$1200 each.
This year we at the POPBA are extremely fortunate that Mayor Brain Arrigo’s office introduced Steve Caruso to us. Steve is the owner of Caruso Corporation right here in Revere. When I met with Steve on the beach this morning, I purposely reviewed with him before he began, how much it would cost and how he wanted us to pay him. When he found out how we met and how badly we here in the POPBA need him, he said: “I can’t charge the City or the POPBA for this, I will do it for the POPBA for NO Charge! He also said: I will be here for your next two clean ups as well, the one in August and the other in September, again, on me!”
Wow! This is so wonderful. It’s people like Mayor Arrigo’s office and Steve Caruso that will help us to bring our beach and community to higher levels of cleanliness, safety, success, neighborliness and community. To Mayor Brian Arrigo’s office and Steve Caruso, I know I speak for everyone here in the Point of Pines Beach Association when I say, Thank You so very much for caring and assisting us in keeping our beautiful beach clean and safe for all our POPBA Members to enjoy!

Beach Cleaning Event with Heavy Equipment..
Hi Everyone,
Good news...we are having our Beach Cleaning Event this Saturday, tomorrow, July 8th, at 8 am meeting in the Point of Pines Yacht Club parking lot. As always, please wear appropriate shoes and gloves. We will have trash bags and extra gloves available as well. Donnie Goodwin, head of the DPW in Revere, has responded and Steve Caruso, a local business owner, will meet us tomorrow with a front-end loader, a dump truck, and two workmen. This will be extremely helpful for us to load the heavy items that wash up on our beach. Please spread the word and join us tomorrow if you are able to. We will have coffee, water, & munchkins at the end meeting spot near our POPBA sign board on the other end of Rice Avenue. Feel free to join us even if you are only able to socialize.
Thanks for the help,
Laurie Nalesnik
